I received a copy of the children's book God Gave Us So Much by Lisa Tawn Bergren to review. I selected this book, to be honest, because I thought the front cover was really cute. This is a children's book series featuring polar bears. This book is actually three stories within one book.The first book, God Gave Us the World, is about how each thing on earth is different and meaningful as created by God. This teaches children a lesson about how it is okay to be different from one another, as God loves us how we are.The second story is God Gave Us Love, about the different types of love we feel (child to parent, parent to child, parent to parent, etc).The third story, God Gave Us Heaven, teaches us about God's home and why we go there and what we will do there and what it will be like. And, of course, how we get there!These stories are very sweet and teach in a way that appeals to children but does not pander. It speaks to children in an intelligent way but not in an overwhelming manner.The illustrations are too cute and would appeal to young children as well as grade schoolers. Sweet stories with orthodox teachings about God. My only criticism is the use of slang such as "whoa!" And "wanna". This is problematic if the stories are used to teach kids how to read by themselves. Proper English would be better and the stories would not be any less charming.
The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I couldn't find which stories were in it. And I already had two of the three. Other than that, I love the stories in the book and find them biblically accurate. My children enjoy the stories and sit to hear them instead of wondering around when I read.

This is a great book (3 in 1) I purposely purchased for God gave us heaven. My brother in law recently passed away so I bought for my sons and my niece (his daughter). This book speaks to children and allowed for great conversation about what happens after death! Highly recommend
This book has beautiful illustrations and wonderful themes, but it's extremely wordy. My three year old grandson lost interest pretty quickly. Maybe it would appeal more to older children

Y’all, the math portion of this study guide is WAY more difficult than the actual exam!! I used it to study and was freaking out. I ended up going online to take mini lessons in college Algebra because I couldn’t do many of the practice test questions without doing the lessons first. Right before the test, I took the practice test supplied by the ETS site. It was a breeze!!! The next day I took the test and it was almost identical to the ETS practice test. I could have saved myself a lot of panic and extra studying if I had used the ETS materials first.
I purchased 2 different Praxis books on Google Play and wanted a physical copy of a Praxis book so I can write notes in. I am very disappointed with this book. I do not believe that it gives any extra tips or any insightful information. It only contains one practice test for each of the subjects. It gives the answers after each test but lacks in the explanation part of said answers. I purchased it specifically for the writing part as I am struggling to pass that. It contains one prompt for the argumentative essay and one prompt for the other (passages) essay. I was very disappointed to discover that there wasn’t any examples of essays, which the other 2 Google books included. Overall, I probably could’ve found better info on the internet.
Well written and organized self help book, but honestly it was way to extensive compared to the material that was on the actual test. Its a good study companion and was helpful but it's a little over the top. If you're able to comprehend and understand all the material in this book, I guarantee you a passing score on praxis. This book over prepares you for what is on the test. I found myself highly stressed out learning the material in this book thinking it was equivalent to what was on the exam. In reality, the Praxis Core test material is much easier. Especially the Math Portion. The math is this book doesn't match the skill level required for the test. I found this book most helpful studying for the reading and writing portion.
I ordered this book based on the reviews, but was very disappointed with the math in particular. The study guide and practice test contain lots of information that is not included on the Praxis exam. I found myself studying the quadratic formula, how to find the stand deviation and many other concepts that I did not need to waste time learning. In addition, there are errors in the book. The reading and writing sections are okay. I found the ETS practice tests MUCH more beneficial and more closely aligned with the exam itself.
I thought the reading and writing portions were easy to follow. I did well on the practice questions for those sections. However, the math section was too verbose in its explanations that left me feeling ill prepared for the practice questions. Once I did the questions, I felt like I wasted my time because they were easier than the topics covered. I also noticed some silly errors that were missed by the editors. I was reading about Surface Area and Volume and all of the sudden came a line that read, “Finally, when you find this phrase, the comma should go before ‘so’ not after ‘so’...†before it trailed back to the original sentence about which topic I was reading! Very odd!
This was a comprehensive test-prep book for my teaching exams. I was rusty before using the book, but passed with flying colors thanks to the guide. Extremely helpful. Lives up to its promise. Five big stars.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree 18 years ago and have been away from an educational environment since. I attempted to take the Praxis Sample year online and found I have forgotten a lot of information. The Praxis books and test questions have really helped me get back into the thought process of education.
The reading and writing sections are pretty good. In Math, Numbers & Quantity, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics are okay. Functions are confusing in the beginning and have some repetitive portions. Probability needs to be better explained with more examples. Also, there are some errors in the book for instance, on page 198 in the real world examples.
