I love bankruptcy law----and Warren's analysis is witty and funny. #PresidentWarren2016

Its not bad, compared to how horrible other law books are. The authors actually make an effort to write some of their own material, introduce cases by their significance, and edit cases. Still, they could explain things better. Also, although the exercises in the book have the potential to be useful, the authors abandoned this potential by refusing to place answers at the end of the book (typical lazy professor move).

In law school, textbooks are generally written, edited, and typeset to be uniformly hard to read. This book, on the other hand, is lucid and interesting as well as covering the important parts of case and statutory law. It's well-organized, and the font and line spacing make it easy on the eyes and comprehensible during late-night studying. For the first time in law school, I found myself reading weeks ahead of the syllabus just for the enjoyment of reading. If all law books were this good, JDs would learn a lot more in school.

Elizabeth Warren is brilliant on this subject. Her knowledge is unparalleled and her choices of which cases to include her textbook are excellent as they provide the reader with additional, valuable information on the subject.I would very highly recommend this book to any individual actively working in this profession, or interested in working in any capacity in this field.

Bankruptcy law is hard enough, this book makes it worse. If you can get away with not buying this book for your class, don't buy it.

This is one of the worst casebooks ever written, although it wont stop the sales because most students do not have a choice of textbooks. The book is poorly edited and leaves out crucial pieces of information (such as which statute is relevant). The book is also in an order that is not conducive to learning the material.

Prof. Warren is quite well respected. Some students rate this as a great case book. Others really dislike it. If the book is assigned to you buy it and work with it. You can always supplement the book with other books that people find helpful. For an introduction to Chapter 11 Business Reorganizations, I recommend Chapter 11 Business Reorganizations: For Business Leaders, Accountants And Lawyers. If you course will also cover other forms of bankrutptcy, I would also purchase Bankruptcy And Debtor/creditor: Examples And Explanations (Examples & Explanations).

This case book is unbelievably bad. It is by far the worst case book I have ever been subjected to. The author's waste time trying to be twee rather than clarifying concepts. The cases are interrupted with author babble that is poorly set off with silly decorative lines. I spend an inordinate amount of time determining whether I am reading a case excerpt or author commentary. And, if possible, I think it actually makes the subject of bankruptcy more complicated than it would otherwise be.

I received a copy of the children's book God Gave Us So Much by Lisa Tawn Bergren to review. I selected this book, to be honest, because I thought the front cover was really cute. This is a children's book series featuring polar bears. This book is actually three stories within one book.The first book, God Gave Us the World, is about how each thing on earth is different and meaningful as created by God. This teaches children a lesson about how it is okay to be different from one another, as God loves us how we are.The second story is God Gave Us Love, about the different types of love we feel (child to parent, parent to child, parent to parent, etc).The third story, God Gave Us Heaven, teaches us about God's home and why we go there and what we will do there and what it will be like. And, of course, how we get there!These stories are very sweet and teach in a way that appeals to children but does not pander. It speaks to children in an intelligent way but not in an overwhelming manner.The illustrations are too cute and would appeal to young children as well as grade schoolers. This book would be best for four to six or seven year olds, in my opinion.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers as part of their book review bloggers program. Sweet stories with orthodox teachings about God. My only criticism is the use of slang such as "whoa!" And "wanna". This is problematic if the stories are used to teach kids how to read by themselves. Proper English would be better and the stories would not be any less charming.

The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I couldn't find which stories were in it. And I already had two of the three. Other than that, I love the stories in the book and find them biblically accurate. My children enjoy the stories and sit to hear them instead of wondering around when I read.

This is a great book (3 in 1) I purposely purchased for God gave us heaven. My brother in law recently passed away so I bought for my sons and my niece (his daughter). This book speaks to children and allowed for great conversation about what happens after death! Highly recommend

This book has beautiful illustrations and wonderful themes, but it's extremely wordy. My three year old grandson lost interest pretty quickly. Maybe it would appeal more to older children

I’ve bought several books in this series such a beautiful expression and explanation of specific subject matter. The pictures are so warm a d inviting,books to be treasured.

So nicely presented, even adults can benefit from reading this and all the others in this collection. I was so impressed I have purchased two sets - one for my grandchildren and another for my nephew.

Gave to my grandson as a gift. My daughter-in-law really likes them.

Y’all, the math portion of this study guide is WAY more difficult than the actual exam!! I used it to study and was freaking out. I ended up going online to take mini lessons in college Algebra because I couldn’t do many of the practice test questions without doing the lessons first. Right before the test, I took the practice test supplied by the ETS site. It was a breeze!!! The next day I took the test and it was almost identical to the ETS practice test. I could have saved myself a lot of panic and extra studying if I had used the ETS materials first.

I purchased 2 different Praxis books on Google Play and wanted a physical copy of a Praxis book so I can write notes in. I am very disappointed with this book. I do not believe that it gives any extra tips or any insightful information. It only contains one practice test for each of the subjects. It gives the answers after each test but lacks in the explanation part of said answers. I purchased it specifically for the writing part as I am struggling to pass that. It contains one prompt for the argumentative essay and one prompt for the other (passages) essay. I was very disappointed to discover that there wasn’t any examples of essays, which the other 2 Google books included. Overall, I probably could’ve found better info on the internet.

Well written and organized self help book, but honestly it was way to extensive compared to the material that was on the actual test. Its a good study companion and was helpful but it's a little over the top. If you're able to comprehend and understand all the material in this book, I guarantee you a passing score on praxis. This book over prepares you for what is on the test. I found myself highly stressed out learning the material in this book thinking it was equivalent to what was on the exam. In reality, the Praxis Core test material is much easier. Especially the Math Portion. The math is this book doesn't match the skill level required for the test. I found this book most helpful studying for the reading and writing portion.

I ordered this book based on the reviews, but was very disappointed with the math in particular. The study guide and practice test contain lots of information that is not included on the Praxis exam. I found myself studying the quadratic formula, how to find the stand deviation and many other concepts that I did not need to waste time learning. In addition, there are errors in the book. The reading and writing sections are okay. I found the ETS practice tests MUCH more beneficial and more closely aligned with the exam itself.

I thought the reading and writing portions were easy to follow. I did well on the practice questions for those sections. However, the math section was too verbose in its explanations that left me feeling ill prepared for the practice questions. Once I did the questions, I felt like I wasted my time because they were easier than the topics covered. I also noticed some silly errors that were missed by the editors. I was reading about Surface Area and Volume and all of the sudden came a line that read, “Finally, when you find this phrase, the comma should go before ‘so’ not after ‘so’...” before it trailed back to the original sentence about which topic I was reading! Very odd!

This was a comprehensive test-prep book for my teaching exams. I was rusty before using the book, but passed with flying colors thanks to the guide. Extremely helpful. Lives up to its promise. Five big stars.

I graduated with a Bachelors Degree 18 years ago and have been away from an educational environment since. I attempted to take the Praxis Sample year online and found I have forgotten a lot of information. The Praxis books and test questions have really helped me get back into the thought process of education.

The reading and writing sections are pretty good. In Math, Numbers & Quantity, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics are okay. Functions are confusing in the beginning and have some repetitive portions. Probability needs to be better explained with more examples. Also, there are some errors in the book for instance, on page 198 in the real world examples.

What if you're visited by an elderly person? What if you're afraid of you and your children's brains turning to indiscriminate mush? The Victorians had these problems all figured out, and they didn't even have Google. What excuse do we have? In addition to owning a deck of cards however, you will need to know how to use them. What use is this low-tech solution if you have to spend half an hour scouring the internet for semi-coherent instructions every time you want to try a new game? So, to complete your self-sufficiency, you'll need a book.I found the instructions in this book to be very clear, and satisfactorily thorough. In comparison to books like Hoyle's, or McNeely's Ultimate Book, which to me read more like Encyclopedias than actual learning guides, you shouldn't ever need to consult Google in order to successfully learn how to play the games. At times I did find there were gaps. Once, during my and my partner's first-ever game of Spite and Malice (which is a delightfully horrible game), we realized only halfway through playing that we were allowed to look at our own hands. Someone familiar with card games might laugh, but as a novice you won't take anything for granted. So, once in a while, there are things I wouldn't mind the author taking a little extra space to clarify. Other than that, the book is awesome. I especially love the clean layout of the pages, which presents the information in a streamlined, organized, and fun way. The games are sorted to allow you to be able to quickly find and choose them based on who you're playing with, and how many are playing. There are games you can play with children, and games you can play with professional poker experts (although there's no poker). I mostly play cards with only one other person, so I was concerned there wouldn't be enough two-person games. I was wrong, and the book makes them easy for me to pick out.The games are sorted into chapters. Chapter 1 is Capturing Games, Chapter 2 Shedding Games, Chapter 3 Patience Games, Chapter 4 Rummy Games, and Chapter 4 Trick-Taking Games. There are descriptions of each of these categories in the Introduction, as well as a small Glossary of important card-playing terms that you can refer to. On the actual pages describing how to play each game, the author lists the difficulty of the game, the number of players required to play it, and the object of the game at the top of the page, next to the name of the game. For visual learners, there are pictures and examples along with the body of the text.Unless you just collect books about cards, this is the one to get. It's concise without being overwhelming. There are 57 games total, each one broken down into practical steps. It actually teaches you how to play, and and it looks nice while doing it.

Our family has LOVED this book! It's beautiful. The games are thoroughly explained and easy to understand. Illustrations are easy to follow. We've had a blast learning new games to play and this book will definitely be gifted to our friends this Christmas season!

This book has a lot of great games in it. They are given levels of difficulty as well, making it easy to start with smaller kids. We have had fun discovering both new games and old favorites we had forgotten about. Easy to read instructions. Amazing how much fun you can have with a deck of cards!

Very good book! It's easy to follow and has pics. But, there are no Poker games.

Definitely playing with adults supervision. Just because some of the ways that they teach these cards games would be difficult for a child to understand. However I guess that is the point of it being a family card game book. Good book though, would recommend to others.

This book had some games (i.e. Spite and Malice) that I played with my mother/grandmother as a kid, that I could never find anything online regarding the rules to teach to someone else. I honestly thought some of these games listed in here were made up by someone in my family for a VERY long time, because NO ONE else had ever heard of them. Now I can play some old favorites with my wife. :DVery happy with this product.Grandma, did you author this book?

I love the way this book is organized. Each game is described in easy to understand language and I just wish it had more games! A solitaire section maybe?

About the Author

Dean Baker has more than 25 years of research experience in occupational and environmental epidemiology. The primary emphasis of his research has been on community-based epidemiological studies. During the past several years, he has focused on developmental toxicity and children's environmental health. He has conducted several epidemiological research studies examining chronic health effects of gestational and early childhood exposure to heavy metals and organochlorine chemicals. His other area of research has been on the health effects of psychosocial stressors in the workplace and in communities exposed to environmental hazards. In both of these areas, Dr. Baker has made contributions to the epidemiological study design and methods. He was elected 3 times as Secretary-Treasurer of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology, and was a founding member. He is an active teacher at the university, directing an occupational medicine residency program and supervising graduate students. Mark J Nieuwenhuijsen has been involved in various environmental exposure assessment, epidemiology, and health risk assessment studies in the Netherlands, the UK, Eastern Europe and the US. His interests include the health effects of chlorination by-products in water, traffic related air pollution and metals, specifically in relation to reproductive, respiratory, renal and cancer effects. He has published over a hundred papers. He graduated from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and went to do a PhD at the National Heart and Lung Institute in London, UK. For his post doc he went to the University of California, Davis, USA after which he took up a faculty position at Imperial College London, UK. In January 2007 he joined the Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) in Barcelona, Spain as a Research Professor. He is associate editor on the journals 'Occupational and Environmental Medicine' and the 'Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology'.

I'd been folowing for this book for a long time. It was a used one but when I opened it, it was something like new. However, it seems like a good quality copy to me. I really do not know, I'm not an expert, but it's not allowed to copy a full book in the US, right? Then it can't be a copy. Sorry I'm just a little bit confused. Maybe it's just very well used?The price was moderate, but shipping time was good.Thanks.
