Several of the 100 things to do in Albuquerque are not in town. I ordered this for friends who were coming from out of state to choose things to do. Some of the most popular tourist things were not even listed. If you want higher end restaurants and art exhibits, this book is for you. If you want a flavor of Albuquerque, NM this would not help.

I think this book has a little something for everyone. There is a good variety of things to do- several things are completely free. It is an excellent resource for when you have out of town guests come in because there is such a wide range of interesting activities suggested.

I adore this book and this series! It's been one of my favorites since I was in grade school. The story itself is rooted in old legends from Wales, and the whole series seems to take in old legends from England, Cornwall, Wales, etc. to make a cohesive story. The series is for youth, much like the Harry Potter books, but equally enjoyable for adults. I love this book in particular because I have always liked linguistics, and this book gives some basic introduction into Welsh. I've read this book at least 10 times and listened to the audio version at least 5. The narrator helps bring the book to life.

I love this series probably more than any other I've read. It could be because my fifth grade teacher read part of this series to us and it was what got me truly interested in reading. This particular book is gorgeous. The imagery and romance of Wales! I remember after reading this I wanted to learn the language and go visit! :). This one is mainly about Will and Bran, though you see a few of the other characters a bit. Later everyone returns to this same setting for the final battle. It's a wonderful story about a budding friendship, growing up and of course battling the Dark.

I've posted this review, in basically this form, for all five of the "Dark is Rising" CD audiobook sets, because there aren't many other reviews of the CD sets. I have all five sets and have been uniformly pleased with the audio quality.I'll skip any summary of this book or of the series; dozens of reviewers have done that quite well. I assume that you are familiar with these books, probably have read this volume, (likely more than once), but now wish to have the book available as an audio CD. Perhaps a long car trip is in the offing? Good for you.I am happy to report that, at least for me, this audio version gets high marks across the board.First, I can hear it and understand it. No mushy sound recording. No odd imbalance in volume that requires you to keep turning the volume up and then down. All of the spoken words are crisp and clear.Second, there are no sound effects or such folderol.Third, there is a single reader. This is not a play for voices and is not read by a number of different character actors.Fourth, Richard Mitchley is an effective reader. There are a lot of Welsh characters in this book and Mitchley gets that across without being so authentic in his accents that he becomes hard to understand. His approach is flavorful but not overly dramatic. Much like Alex Jennings, who read the other four books, he is not coy or arch, and does not ham up any of the big scenes. He succeeds in establishing a distinct and recognizable identity for each character.Finally, the reading is very respectful. By that I mean the book is not read as though it were just some silly children's book. It is treated as the triumphant work that it is and this adds greatly to its weight and impact.Please note that like all of the CD books this reading is unabridged. There are 5 compact discs. Runtime is a bit over five and a half hours.Enjoy.

Loved the book. I have read it ,and The Dark is Rising Sequence, many times as an adult. I am puzzled that it is not better known. I bought it to read with my grandson. He loves the excitement, mystery and magic.

Read this along with my 11yr old, he needed some encouragement. We hadn't read any of the others in the series and still was good. Loved the Welsh references, entertaining and educational.

Thanks to the British narrator, the series lived up to my expectations. My standards are high for transcriptions of favorite books.

I loved this book when I was a child, and my children love it, too.

Geometric patterns are my favorite thing to color. I have all three of the books in this series and have enjoyed all of them. The pages are single-sided and the patterns are framed - they don't run off the page or into the binding. I wish this volume was spiral-bound like the first one and perforated pages would be nice, but those are the only complaints I have. I hope Volume 4 is released soon!

Fabulous coloring book. Great designs. Good page weight. One design per page.The shapes are too small for young kids whose digital dexterity is undeveloped.

I'm happy with my purchase for the price, but so you're aware - it's a small square book, like 4" by 4". Although it is small, there is quite a bit of detail, as it is printed on both sides of the page, but the 3D isn't much to write home about. The book is accordian style, so once it's out of it's holder/cover, it opens all the way. I won't get any of the other cities because of the size and lack of true pop-up "3D", but it has been fun to look at it and practice a French accent with my 4-year old.

Distinctly favored by an eleven-year-old who wants to visit Paris someday. Although she isn't ordinarily fond of books, the 3D aspect makes this one appealing. It's just the sort of thing that brings some fun to learning. Recommend!

I LOVE this book. Every couple years I find a book that I like so much I buy lots of copies to give to several family friends. I've already ordered 10 of these and will likely add more. This book teaches children about compassion and homelessness & it also teaches kids that even through they are small they are mighty and they can make a positive difference. I'm giving several to minister friends to use with their children's groups. Great questions for kids to discuss at the end as well.

LOVE this book for young children and early readers. Lots of important messages throughout the book - you can do any thing, everyone matters, big problems can be complicated and each of us can be a part of the solution. Buying lots of copies!!!

What a wonderful way to show children the joy of giving back to others and encourage them that even the youngest among us can make a real difference!I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. I met both the author and illustrator last night at a local art gallery and had my *many* copies signed.They are both amazing women who care about giving back to their city and community and make me want to do and give more.This book is such a beautiful story. I look forward to reading it for years to come with my own three boys - and have bought several copies to pass on to my nieces and nephews!

The colorful and vibrant illustrations by Evelyn Henson add to Kathy Izard's wonderful tale. A Good Night for Mr. Coleman gives us all a reminder about the importance of kindness and doing for others. I highly recommend this book for children of all ages for schools, churches, and homes!!
