I read this book for a graduate Anthropology course. Compared to many of the other books we read, this was enjoyable and 'easier' to get through. Should be required reading for anyone working in Nigeria.

 I own two God-centered coloring books by Karla Dornacher and hope that she will release more coloring books in the future. “Everlasing Hope” is not a coloring book nor is it a step-by-step how-to for journaling in your own Bible. It is, firstly, an explanation of how Ms. Dornacher journals in her Bible. What makes up the bulk of the book are the pre-printed aids for you to use when you journal.Those aids are in the form designs by Ms. Dornacher: eight traceable pages of designs, four pages of vellum designs which can be cut out and pasted into your Bible, and four pages of full color stickers.I wasn't sure quite what to expect from the book when I pre-ordered it, but I am very pleased to have something so different from other books I have on Bible Journaling. It appears that the publisher has a number of similar books by different artists, so choosing the one(s) whose art appeals to me will be the hardest decision.I will certainly use all of the components in this book in journaling Bible that I recently purchased. It will be very different from the Bibles that I have which either had printed designs for coloring or which I used my own artwork (inspired by how-to books) to do my own journaling.

I have a few Bible Journaling books, so I was not prepared for this booklet. While the finished line art and colored stickers will make nice additions to my faith planner pages, ( the artworks is very cute, don't get me wrong) there is no substance to this other than for adding the artists finished work to my planner. I was expecting some techniques or inspirations to jumpstart my own Journaling process. This is more coloring/sticker book than my previous purchases. There just wasn't enough here for me to get excited about. I will skip the other booklets similar to this one I had in my cart. If you are more of a cut and paste or sticker adding fan, these are going to be perfect for you. My main point in writing this review is to let you know that this is mainly a sticker book of Karla's artwork. Nothing wrong with that, just absolutely not what I expected. Its 20 pages long, with several of the pages just showing the artist's finished work.

I was thrilled when I received "Everlasting Hope" and looked through the pages slowly and intently, contemplating how I'd use them in my Bible journaling. Karla never disappoints when sharing her Christian faith through her artwork. I have recommended this to my friends and plan on buying some as Christmas gifts for some other Bible journaling friends. Loads of resources that can be copied or traced in your Bible.

Absolutely beautiful!!! The quality is amazing and of course Karla's artwork is as much of a blessing as it is fun. Would make lovely Christmas gifts!

This is a fun book of Karla's beautiful artwork that shows her heart for God! It's full of ideas & artwork you can use in your own Bible journaling. You can trace the work into your own Bible, color, cut, & paste it, or mix & match the designs & add your own to create whatever you want!

Oh, my! So much help in one beautiful book for this art challenged Bible journaler! Items for coloring, tracing, sticking, whatever you need. I even learned a new trick from reading Karla's note in the front of the book. This will be my go-to for fancying up my journaling pages.

I loved it!!!! I love all the pages to help me do my own art or use her art to trace. The stickers are beautiful!

I posted this same review for another booklet like this one. The same is true for both.Beautiful. Stickers, tape strips, traceables...but my favorites are the designs on opaque parchment. I love to color or add artwork to my journaling bible as I mediate on God's word. While I admire the many wonderful illustrations that take up a page with beautiful paint and markers, personally I don't want to color over the word itself. I want to be able to read it. So the parchment designs let me put in inserts that can be simply lifted up to read the scripture and laid back down to show the illustrations. Which gives me the option of illustrations in the margins or inserts or both. That works well for me.

I read it when I was a young girl while I lived in a Catholic boarding School in Peru run by Fransican nuns.I searched looking to find it to read it after many years. I was lucky to find it here.It's the most compelling history of the live of Jesus not much as the son of God but as a human being and to the people that sorrounded Him.I bought 4 copies to give it as presents. I wanted to share this memorable history. I still read it from time to time!.I love it, it takes me back to the days when I was inocent and carefree!Thanks!

Leí solo unas paginas a mi suegro antes de que fallesca y pude ver que guardaba un gran respeto por dicho libro, cosa que lo llevó a sentirse acongojado. Solo por eso, sin saber más, pasa a ser un libro digno de recordar.Básicamente relata como novela la vida de cristo, no tengo idea si es ficción o qué, pero sí sé que a un buen cristiano le va a gustar.

Each page takes about misspelling, incomplete word and symbols instead of letters.The content is very good, however these orthographic errors interfere with a coherent reading.I would like to read a corrected version of this book, otherwise, I do not think I finalize reading without having frustrated a decent reading.

My son has been on the Ketogenic Diet for epilepsy for over 3 years (as a note, this product is focused on those who use the Ketogenic Diet for medical reasons...not body builders or those who wish to reduce). He's pretty picky and I've spent a lot of time and trial and error finding meals which will work for him.This book is written by a dietician and a mother who has a child on the diet. There is a lot of experience written into this book, including how to organize your kitchen to help your child get used to the diet (not leaving things that they can't have in the open), what tools are handy, letters to caregivers/schools, and what kind of food preparation works best in an emergency (no stores or electricity).One of the best things about this book is that all of the recipes work around the usual cream + a meal or oil + a meal. Many kids get tired of that but there seem to be few meals which can accept the fat load necessary for a keto meal. This book works to create recipes with the fat in the meal.Recipe highlights include:breakfast cookiespigs in a blanketfruit pizzamicrowaved bacon and eggsprotein wafflechicken nuggetsquesadilla with creamy avocado dipcream of chicken souptacosbake and freeze pizzaspaghetti carbonaraspaghetti alfredopork stir fry with ginger cream sodabroccoli, bacon, and blue cheese meltno-bake tropical cream cheese barsapples and peanut butter dipno-bake chocolate snack barsdairy-free yogurt (and parfaits)fudge popsiclesvanilla cupcakesThere are 96 recipes with a good mix child-friendly and slightly-more-adventurous. Most of those recipes (@60) have a full color photo at the beginning of the recipe section. My son loves this. He can chose a recipe to try by the picture, and I can see how it's supposed to turn out when I'm done. There's also an attempt to have a few recipes for children who can't drink dairy products (dairy-free yogurt, dips with oil and mayo). Most keto sources leave out that small segment of the population.Things to know before you buy:*all recipes are based on a 4:1 ratio/400ish calorie meal. You will have to tweak these (or have your own dietician tweak them) on your keto calculator.*even if you are using a 4:1 ratio, etc., the meals are protein heavy. If your dietician has you set for a more equal protein/carb balance, then you'll have to eliminate some protein here and add some carb. This may change the way the meal looks or its texture*if you have a 3:1 or smaller ratio, this book may be meaningless to you. It still makes a good resource but more for ideas then actual recipes.*the author uses Truvia powder for sweetener. If you use Splenda, saccarine, or Stevia (liquid or powder), you will have to adjust the amounts according to taste.*the author uses 40% cream and European butter (not available everywhere). They have have higher fat content so subbing 36% cream or American butter will mean a few extra grams.All in all very worth the purchase price.

Bottom line: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK! Several other reviewers have left unfavorable reviews due to the fact that the recipe measurements are given in grams and are only 1 serving each. This book and its recipes are aligned with the "ketocalculator" program designed by the Charlie Foundation and provided to dietitians and parents who are using ketogenic diet therapy to treat epilepsy. That being said, the recipes in The Keto Cookbook are a great way to learn how to cook ketogenic meals at the very highest ratio. Once the skills are learned to be able to include the massive amounts of fat into a small meal, the calorie and fat content can easily be adjusted by users to fit specific nutritional needs. The recipes are far more creative than what was initially provided to us in the hospital and helped our daughters meals feel more "normal" while also increasing the variety of items she is able to eat. Again, The Keto Cookbook's intended audience is children being treated with ketogenic diet therapy for epilepsy and should be standard issue at every hospital keto clinic.

I really liked using this cookbook. Then, I encouraged its used and loaned it to friends...who never returned it because it was so useful!!! There was a cracker recipe in their that my kids really liked.

We've found it's easy to get stuck in a rut while doing the ketogenic diet with our 2 year old. We find a couple meals she likes, then we stick with it for months until she's tired of it. Dawn's book helps us break that cycle by offering some really inventive recipes to use. I can tell she's invested a lot of time exploring different meals during her own keto experience. With this book, she shares that experience with us.I think the book's layout is good. There are basically two tables of contents, one with meal titles and another of pictures. My wife and I get lots of recipe inspiration from this book, and are personally inspired by Dawn's life.

Returned book, was to control epileptic seizures in children whit precision gram measured recipes. I wanted it for weight loss.

This book has good ideas on what to create as meals for children, but mine being still an infant/toddler it truly did not work too well since he hasn't quite mastered chewing yet. Other wise does give good ideas on what to make and i've learn to make my own through inspiration. I liked the fact that it has sample letters and ideas to make the diet better. Recommend, Yes.

great book for parents who are starting keto. My son is on MAD and I highly recommend this book - by it before you start the diet, it really helps you see how you can really make it work.

I discovered Ketocook just as my daughter was starting her keto journey in June 2012. Compared to the recipes our dietician had provided us, of the meat/vegetable/oil variety, these recipes were just a godsend. The bake and freeze pizza is one of my daughter's favorites, though it is very cumbersome to make.I do agree with Debbie B's review below that some of the ingredients aren't ideal for an epileptic, but many recipes can be modified in the ketocalculator (example: instead of Hellman's use Trader Joe's organic or Spectrum brand Mayo).

I spent a great amount of time in this area of the world and found Jeff Goldberg "right on" in all the locations he experiences throughout the book. I was surprised though that he did not change the names of all the Palestians in the book. I know this because I have met most of them in my business dealing or know people who know them. But thats ok- it makes it even more entertaining for us. My question is : "Why has Goldberg NOT written another book since this one?" I love his writing style!! I am so "thirsty" to read more of his work in a book vs. magazine article. If you are interested in the Middle East- this is a must read, as well as Thomas Friedman's "From Beirut to Jerusalem"- updated version.

Jeffrey Goldberg is an excellent, engaging writer who brings a deeply-considered perspective to a very difficult topic. Personal but framed broadly, I gained excellent insight into the true dynamics in this situation. Left me sad and doubtful about the prospects for peace but enriched my understanding greatly.

One of the best books I have ever reda..spell binding and full of humor despote a very dramatic stpry.

What a fantastic book.Jeff Goldberg takes us through his life's journey from an aspiring child zionist to his time as an Israeli military police officer, his return to America for life as a journalist, and his return to Gaza and other cities in Palestine where he tries to reconnect with many of the prisoners he watched over during his time as a "shoter" (policemen) in the prisonsWithout telling too much of the outcome, I will say that the many experiences are thrilling, very telling of the situations, and seldom experienced by anyone. It is very rare to find someone trying to find a prisoner he once watched over so that he can open his home to that person. This will open up a whole new set of experiences and ideas for Goldberg.What drives Goldberg to do this? Maybe it was his desire to end his own personal conflict with the course of middle eastern politics. Maybe it was his apologetic retribution for being a police officer in a palestinian prison. Maybe it was his want to show the Palestinian people that the Israelis are prisoners too, to the hostility that is perpetuated by suicide bombings. Maybe he thought he could end the conflict by reaching out.After reading the book, all the complexities and truths that exist within this conflict become more clear. The perspective he brings is fascinating and worth being read by anybody who has a care about the situation in Israel/Palestine.

Excellent book, but the paperback edition could use better paper.

Just as he does in his blog, Jeffrey Goldberg presents a nuanced picture of Israel from the perspective of a Zionist and lover of the Jewish people.

This is a must for anyone Jew, Muslim gentile (like me) who despairs at the Israeli/Palestinian problem to be confirmed in the view that there are people of good will on both sides where common humanity exists but unfortunately frustrated by those in power who believe that force is the only way forward

I read it in 2 nights. It is truly brilliantly perceptive and indescribably sad - he, like so many, see no solution, not really, despite his theme of coexistence. President Reagan made notations in his diary every single day of his presidency, except perhaps for those days when he was hospitalized after being shot. He used writing to organize his thoughts and even wrote or edited most of his speeches. His true nature is revealed through his diary entries. He was not an intellectual giant, but he was a charismatic leader and a great orator. He brought people together and worked toward compromises and agreements. For instance, he will always be associated with tearing down the Berlin Wall.The book is quite long - nearly 800 pages in the printed version, and requiring more than 10 hours to read in the Kindle version. Brinkley, the editor, painstakingly retained Reagan's original words, spelling errors and all, though chose to summarize a significant portion of the diary (probably 50%), rather than include a word-for-word rendition. The summarized info is shown in italics. Classified info has also been redacted (shown with square brackets in the text). I started off carefully reading every word, but by about half way through the book, I thought I'd never finish so decided to just skim the italicized text.This is not an autobiography. There is no historical analysis, no retelling of historic events, no summarization of the issues of the day. For instance, though the Iran-Contra affair is mentioned many, many times, you won't be able to piece together what actually happened by reading the diary entries. Perhaps Reagan was not a deep or introspective thinker, or perhaps he just knew that his diaries would become public at some point, and didn't want to get too personal.Here are some of my observations from the diary:He had a modest ego. Even the "Tear Down This Wall" speech in Berlin in 1987 is somewhat downplayed, though he did mention that the speech was warmly received.He had little respect for the press and believed they manipulated situations and chose what news to present; there are quite a few negative comments about Sam Donaldson in particular.He had a contentious relationship with Tip O'Neill.His devotion to Nancy was legendary and he mentioned her absence with longing every time she had to be away from him. He was proud of her work on the "Just Say No" campaign.He hobnobbed with the rich and famous, particularly Hollywood types.He loved to watch movies, even the oldies but goodies. He didn't care for R rated or smutty movies though.He didn't use swear words. He writes d--n and h--l in his diary, and never a mention of the F word at all.He was sensitive and touched by many of the people that he met with hardships, frequently commenting that he "puddled up".He made friends with some of the most important global figures of the day - Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher, Mother Theresa.His main form of recreation was horseback riding and cutting down trees.He was inordinately proud of his physical condition, always reporting that he got a good report from his many physical exams. In Chapter 4 he wrote "I'm so healthy I had a hard time not acting smug."He was very concerned about his approval rating, and mentioned it frequently; though he wasn't always rated highly, his final polls in office gave him the highest rating of any president ever.He was photographed thousands of times while in office; "photo op" is probably the most commonly recurring appointment on his calendarHe never did learn how to spell Gadaffi (leader of Libya); Quadhafy, Quadafy, Kadhafy, Qaddafi, Quadaffi, Quadafi were some of his attempts.He made history for 8 years, and strolling through his diary is a great reminder of the world changing events of the 1980's. On his last night in office he wrote "Tomorrow I stop being President." There's no way to know from his diary whether he was sad, excited or relieved at the end of his historic term in office. However, reading his diaries motivates me to look for a biography to fill in where his diary leaves off.

This is a book where 99.9% of the words are directly from Reagan himself, so there is no political slant beyond his own. Whether you love him or hate him, you'll find what you're looking for here.The biggest downside is that the editor (and the author [Reagan] as well), doesn't elaborate on what Reagan is saying, so if you're like me and you were young during the events of the early 1980's, you'll have a hard time matching what was written with what was happening in the world at the time.

I've read Reagan's autobiography and Reagan: The Life, but it all started when I saw a paperback copy of The Reagan Diaries in the bargain bin at a book store. The Reagan Diaries aren't something you read through from start to finish, but I pick it up often and just read a few pages. Or I might want to know about a specific entry and flip to that page.The Reagan Diaries is a really intimate, personal look into Reagan's eight years as president of the United States. We get to see, in his own words, what his daily life as president was like, including how he felt about certain issues.If you want to learn more about Reagan's life and political career, then The Reagan Diaries is an essential part of your book collection.

I purchased this book as a gift for my mother on mother's day. The hardcover edition is beautifully bound, and would make a great edition to any reader's shelf. My mother, who is fond of history, reading, and of course Ronald Reagan, has enjoyed sifting through the book. I personally find it would be difficult to read straight through the entire book, as some of Reagan's entrees are quite mundane. Despite this, I think readers will find some words of wisdom and may gain insight into the office of president.The part I most enjoyed while looking through the book are the pictures that capture the most memorable moments of Reagan's presidency. The only complaint I have is the packaging the book arrived in. It was simply covered in a cardboard sort of wrap, resulting in a small scuff on the bottom corner when I received it.

This book depicted who I believe is the real Ronald Reagan. He was smart, compassionate, tough when needed and he read people very well. He truly adored his wife and loved the United States of America. His messages proved him to be a good friend and showed his great respect for those who deserved respect. This book was also a good review of our recent history. Well done.

Reading anyone's diary is like peeking into their life and their innermost secrets. Imagine reading the diary of a U.S. President. After reading this book, one feels like one actually knows Ronald Reagan. No matter the political persuasion, everyone will enjoy reading this diary. President Reagan has a diary entry for every day of his eight-year presidency. There are entries that gives one the inside behind the scenes stories on some of the most fascinating moments in history (USSR, Contras, etc.). And, there are entries that show the humorous side of Ronald Reagan. One recurring theme in these diaries is Ronald Reagan's undying love for his wife Nancy. It comes through in almost every entry. It shows that Ronald Reagan had old fashioned and refreshing values. We will not see the likes of him again. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down.

I just finished ready The Reagan Diaries. I enjoyed President Reagan's almost daily comments to his diary. I always respected his decisions, as President, but I also was so impressed with his great love of his wife Nancy and how he almost always commented as to how much he missed her when she was away on travel or business . Then again he was so excited and happy when she returned home to the President.
