I LOVE this book. Every couple years I find a book that I like so much I buy lots of copies to give to several family friends. I've already ordered 10 of these and will likely add more. This book teaches children about compassion and homelessness & it also teaches kids that even through they are small they are mighty and they can make a positive difference. I'm giving several to minister friends to use with their children's groups. Great questions for kids to discuss at the end as well.

LOVE this book for young children and early readers. Lots of important messages throughout the book - you can do any thing, everyone matters, big problems can be complicated and each of us can be a part of the solution. Buying lots of copies!!!

Purchased this book for my son's K class. It's a great eye opening look at what truly is going on in our world, taught and written in a very loving way.

What a wonderful way to show children the joy of giving back to others and encourage them that even the youngest among us can make a real difference!I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. I met both the author and illustrator last night at a local art gallery and had my *many* copies signed.They are both amazing women who care about giving back to their city and community and make me want to do and give more.This book is such a beautiful story. I look forward to reading it for years to come with my own three boys - and have bought several copies to pass on to my nieces and nephews!

The colorful and vibrant illustrations by Evelyn Henson add to Kathy Izard's wonderful tale. A Good Night for Mr. Coleman gives us all a reminder about the importance of kindness and doing for others. **This review is for the 25th anniversary edition released June 27, 2017. Please note Amazon imported 66 reviews from previous editions. As of today, 12 reviews are of this edition.** I am still reading the book but felt a few notes were worth posting a review. First, not sure if a previous reviewer just got a bad book but my book doesn't seem to have been hastily made and is of good quality. The spine, cover, pages, and paper used (even the paper used on the color pages) are all crisp with no ink smudging, no glue residue, and no stuck/incorrectly cut pages. As for the book itself, the forward is pretty lengthy with some intimacy yet very prominent formality. Not my favorite writing style but I'm glad it's just in the forward. Before purchasing this edition, I tried to find a comparison of all previous editions to see what was specifically added but never could find solid info. This edition is broken into three parts: edited transcripts of Diana's interviews that are in the original publication, a biography, and all aftermath to date since the original 1992 publication. In all, there are 13 chapters, the last being titled "The People's Princess." Hopefully this will help someone else considering this as a first read (like myself) or an updated edition. Diana's transcripts are indeed somewhat scattered but expected since she wasn't directly interviewed; however, it is still easy to move along with her and I enjoyed it better this way since they are her direct words and storytelling. The biography goes into detail about her birth up to adulthood with an intricate detail about her blood lines (which I never knew but thought neat). Will update when I'm finished reading the book in its entirety. So far, worth the money spent.

Princess' own words in the beginning of this book were moving but disjointed and I wanted to hear more from her heart. The rest of the book by the author filled in some of the gaps. I have always been fascinated by her and admired and loved her. I am unconvinced her death was just a car accident; I believe her death was untimely and so tragic. I am outraged with how she was treated by Prince Charles and the Royal Family, and caused to feel such rejection and so unloved and unimportant. Her bulimia, insecurities, jealousy of Camilla, and ultimately the failure of her marriage simply makes her more human and relatable to ordinary people. I wanted her marriage to work out--her wedding and dress was incredible and we all wanted the fairy tale to come true--but it came smashing down. Yet her pain is part of why people loved her. She seemed to be such a loving, good mom and I was glad to see how her sons still honor her in this book. I thought this was a very interesting book and recommend it for Diana-admirers. She will not be forgotten.

Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words is a heartbreaking insight into the life and mind of one of the most beloved people the world has ever seen. Delving deep into some of Diana's most life-changing moments- both good and bad- is almost breathtaking. Reading the words on the page as she actually said them- completely breathtaking. I had to stop myself several times from becoming emotional while reading this book, as it reads quite differently than anything else I've come across. To hear what she felt, not from another's perspective, not from a third-party writing about her, but to actually read the words Diana once said is chilling. To read what she thought and why she did things, in a totally undiluted manner feels almost intrusive. Andrew Morton couldn't have written this book better if he tried, it flows together seamlessly. I'm so glad I decided to read this, I can't recommend it enough.

The writing is somewhat STUFFY!!! But, then, what would you expect from an Englishman. He takes delight in using big words and totally forgets who his intended audience is -- the average man and/or woman. Nevertheless, it is an interesting book. It paints a horrible picture of Prince Charles and his beloved, INTRUSIVE mistress Camilla.The really unfortunate thing is that Charles had an incredibly decent woman woman for a wife whose "Charity" work is legendary. On top of all that, she was beautiful and she provided him with two heirs to the throne. He had everything and he threw it all away for a affair with a woman who was a nothing and a nobody. I found myself wanting to smack Charles upside the head throughout the whole book. Sadly, I doubt it would bring him to his senses. He's now married to his dog faced mistress. They are both uncaring and unfeeling -- especially where Princess Diana, William and Harry were concerned. These two narcisists, Charles and his selfish mistress Camilla, deserve each other.

Who died too early, under dark circumstances. She was beautiful inside and out, unselfish , loving, brought up her children with great love, was greatly wronged by her husband and the royal family. It’s hard not to belieythat they had no part in her death. She was too inconvenient . Charles comes out as a spineless coward, who did not have the courage to marry the woman he really loved, let himself be pushed into marrying this true innocent human being he did not love, and then cinically proceeded to punish her for his mistake. It’s hateful unconscionable.,unacceptable.Having read other books about Princess Diana , there is no doubt in my mind she was murdered. She was too inconvenient for the future king. But who would want a spineless , coward, unfaithful king who talks to plants,

Interesting. This is the 3rd book I've read on Diana. The protection officer Ken Wharf, Burrell's first book and then this book. I found Ken's book the most measured, closest to what a life is. Burrell's book was obviously bs at times. His fawning over her is much ridiculous. Unbelievable really that he claims he was her closest adviser. This book is interesting in that it is her perspective, keeping in mind her perspective may not be total reality. I like this edition because it has direct transcripts evidencing her speaking and writing style. I recommend this book if you're interested in Diana.

Pros: The book is short. It does give some insight into how to create OKR's. I think I can translate it into actual practice.Cons: Very little detail as far as how to create OKR's. As I mentioned in the "Pros" list above, I will need to translate this into practice. However, the title says "Step by Step Guide to OKR's" which would make you think they might lay out steps such as Step 1 do this, Step 2 do that. Also, this book pretty early on reveals itself as a pitch for the Weekdone software. The way it was done was far too obvious.Often a good white paper will teach you something and then reveal at the end how it would be easier to do with their software or how some problem that people typically have implementing the ideas can be solved with the software. It didn't create a big need in me to buy the software for the small company I work for. But I just might try it out personally to see if it has any value though. So I guess the book did accomplish it's goal.

This book was okay but felt mostly like a "Weekdone" advertisement. The content was also mostly common knowledge. It can be summarized by thisStep 1: Set an objectiveStep 2: Set one or more S.M.A.R.T goals for each objectiveStep 3: Monitor progress

It's a good overview if you have no experience with OKRs, but it does not go into any depth as to "step by step" process to execute an OKR program. I bought this hoping to get more insights on how to monitor and interact with OKRs and I didn't learn anything beyond very superficial basics.

Similar to other comments, this was a very basic intro on the topic. It lacked any particular depth or guidance on perhaps the most difficult part of OKRs, the key results. More of a grand plug for Weekdone.

Introductory to the tracker world of performance and progress. However, there is no details after all. Disappointed to learn at the end it’s all about selling a software.

Its a book with the basic basic description of OKR but it doesnt have many examples nor a step by step guide

It is easy to understand why and how to set OKRs for my team through this book. I will try to install weekdone right after finishing this review. I believe you could easily find the way like me.

I think we all knew that the arrival of the Pilgrims in Massachusetts was more than Puritans eking out an existence on Plymouth Rock, nearly starving the first year and celebrating w/ the neighbors when the harvest came in. For instance, no one ever explained how it was that Squanto was able to communicate w/ the Pilgrims. It turns out that he (real name Tisquantum) was captured by an English ship's master in 1614 and taken w/ some twenty-seven Native Americans back to England to be sold as slaves at Malaga, Spain. At Malaga, Spanish monks saved him and his fellow prisoners from slavery. He managed to make his way to England, learned English and found passage back to Massachussets, arriving just before the Pilgrims. The fact that New England was well explored by English ships looking for cod to take back to England prior to 1620 wasn't covered in my lessons about the founding of an English colony. The fact that the backers who paid for the voyage of the Mayflower hoped to recoup their expenses by opening a lucrative fur trade also wasn't covered. The circumstances that led strict Dissenters who we know as Puritans to the New World is also a more interesting story than the problems w/ King James and temporary refuge in Holland. This book is an extremely well-researched and extremely well-written account of how it was that the Pilgrims came to the New World. It's much more interesting than I ever imagined. The details in this book and the incredible background in this book make it a superb addition to anyone's understanding. I guarantee that you will find out much that you never knew and the truth is much more interesting than the traditional Thanksgiving tale. I recommend this book highly.

I enjoy reading history. I ignored this book for several years after its publication. What could be new about Plymouth Rock? Well, plenty. Kudos to the author. He combed through the business records and shipping records in England and Europe, and re-traced the fur trading routes in what is now Maine and Massachusetts, to give an economic history of Plymouth colony. That sounds dull, but it is not. Prayer and a desire for land and freedom could not have led to the settling of New England--this book ties European commerce, and European wars, to the conditions that made risking the Atlantic crossing worth while for tens of thousands of English. Very informative and entertainingly written. Completely different from Nathanial Philbrick's "Mayflower", which is a history of the New England settlers and the native inhabitants.

In "Making Haste From Babylon", Nick Bunker begins with an eagle's view of history; and though the eagle transmogrifies, like a Pacific Northwest totem, into a menagerie of other creatures, crowned by the beaver which (who knew?) enabled the flagging New Plymouth colony survive, from first to last this literary trick allows an aerial survey of events and people who shaped them in the covenant of business and religion that became New England that in a very real way unfolds the entire map at once. Theories, like detail, may seem densely packed, but when one steps back (or hovers eagle-like overhead) the bright fretwork of Bunker's logic gleams in recognizable and often beautiful patterns. And he's not afraid of shaking up the hoary Pilgrims more than a little. His portrait of Elder William Brewster is a case in point. Those who envision Brewster as the mild-mannered old greybeard a little lower than Moses will find in Bunker's pages a vibrant and risk-taking man who rose from an upwardly mobile northern English family in which Puritanism's footnotes, like those in the Geneva Bible, sang the praises of success and prosperity, and spent his youth among the nonconformist firebrands of Cambridge University and the dramatic pre-Spanish Armada years on the edge of the court of Queen Elizabeth I, then after fleeing to Holland risked the welfare of himself, his family and his congregation by publishing seditious books that moved King James I to issue arrest warrants and sputter vituperatives. Brewster brought to New England not only a cracking library rich with both searching religious texts and books about exploration, courtly manners, tables of nobility, and silk worms, but also his dangerous refusal to be told by any monarch how to worship or how to live as a citizen and man, and the knowledge and experience to inform a document (the Mayflower Compact) seminal to the American ideal of civic freedoms and responsibilities. That he and the rest of the Pilgrims of 1620 were more colourful than American schoolchildren (of which I was one) were ever taught is clear. But above all, that they were human to a degree anyone living in today's jaded world can still understand, rings like a bell through Bunker's somber, sardonic, illuminating and majestic book.

An interesting complex opinionated and very much researched description of the Pilgrims. It is particularly good at setting the complex background in England that gave rise to the pilgrims (Brownists as opposed to the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay.) Interesting in setting the economic reasons for the colonies success and describing the people who made it up. A much more nuanced history of the Plymouth colony set in broader historical terms than many accounts. All in all well worth reading f you are interested in America in the colonial period.

I am a history nut who wants to know the whys and wherefores of historical events. "Making Haste from Babylon" is one of those thought provoking books that inform and entertain at the same time. As most Americans, I thought I knew the story of the Pilgrims, but was surprised at what I didn't know. The author has done a magnificent job of research on the period and what was behind the reasons for the pilgrims to emigrate and the fact that they finally, after several years of struggle, became a successful colony. I'm sure that it was mentioned somewhere in some small statement, but it hit me hard to know that the trade in beaver pelts was the deciding factor on whether the colony would survive or not. I recommend the book highly. It is deep reading, but well worth the time. Ann Lamphere

I read this book for a graduate Anthropology course. Compared to many of the other books we read, this was enjoyable and 'easier' to get through. Should be required reading for anyone working in Nigeria.

 I own two God-centered coloring books by Karla Dornacher and hope that she will release more coloring books in the future. “Everlasing Hope” is not a coloring book nor is it a step-by-step how-to for journaling in your own Bible. It is, firstly, an explanation of how Ms. Dornacher journals in her Bible. What makes up the bulk of the book are the pre-printed aids for you to use when you journal.Those aids are in the form designs by Ms. Dornacher: eight traceable pages of designs, four pages of vellum designs which can be cut out and pasted into your Bible, and four pages of full color stickers.I wasn't sure quite what to expect from the book when I pre-ordered it, but I am very pleased to have something so different from other books I have on Bible Journaling. It appears that the publisher has a number of similar books by different artists, so choosing the one(s) whose art appeals to me will be the hardest decision.I will certainly use all of the components in this book in journaling Bible that I recently purchased. It will be very different from the Bibles that I have which either had printed designs for coloring or which I used my own artwork (inspired by how-to books) to do my own journaling.

I have a few Bible Journaling books, so I was not prepared for this booklet. While the finished line art and colored stickers will make nice additions to my faith planner pages, ( the artworks is very cute, don't get me wrong) there is no substance to this other than for adding the artists finished work to my planner. I was expecting some techniques or inspirations to jumpstart my own Journaling process. This is more coloring/sticker book than my previous purchases. There just wasn't enough here for me to get excited about. I will skip the other booklets similar to this one I had in my cart. If you are more of a cut and paste or sticker adding fan, these are going to be perfect for you. My main point in writing this review is to let you know that this is mainly a sticker book of Karla's artwork. Nothing wrong with that, just absolutely not what I expected. Its 20 pages long, with several of the pages just showing the artist's finished work.

I was thrilled when I received "Everlasting Hope" and looked through the pages slowly and intently, contemplating how I'd use them in my Bible journaling. Karla never disappoints when sharing her Christian faith through her artwork. I have recommended this to my friends and plan on buying some as Christmas gifts for some other Bible journaling friends. Loads of resources that can be copied or traced in your Bible.

Absolutely beautiful!!! The quality is amazing and of course Karla's artwork is as much of a blessing as it is fun. Would make lovely Christmas gifts!

This is a fun book of Karla's beautiful artwork that shows her heart for God! It's full of ideas & artwork you can use in your own Bible journaling. You can trace the work into your own Bible, color, cut, & paste it, or mix & match the designs & add your own to create whatever you want!

Oh, my! So much help in one beautiful book for this art challenged Bible journaler! Items for coloring, tracing, sticking, whatever you need. I even learned a new trick from reading Karla's note in the front of the book. This will be my go-to for fancying up my journaling pages.

I loved it!!!! I love all the pages to help me do my own art or use her art to trace. The stickers are beautiful!

I posted this same review for another booklet like this one. The same is true for both.Beautiful. Stickers, tape strips, traceables...but my favorites are the designs on opaque parchment. I love to color or add artwork to my journaling bible as I mediate on God's word. While I admire the many wonderful illustrations that take up a page with beautiful paint and markers, personally I don't want to color over the word itself. I want to be able to read it. So the parchment designs let me put in inserts that can be simply lifted up to read the scripture and laid back down to show the illustrations. Which gives me the option of illustrations in the margins or inserts or both. That works well for me.

This Particular book is dear to me. I read it when I was a young girl while I lived in a Catholic boarding School in Peru run by Fransican nuns.I searched looking to find it to read it after many years. I was lucky to find it here.It's the most compelling history of the live of Jesus not much as the son of God but as a human being and to the people that sorrounded Him.I bought 4 copies to give it as presents. I wanted to share this memorable history. I still read it from time to time!.I love it, it takes me back to the days when I was inocent and carefree!Thanks!

No soy católico. Pero para un católico este libro debe de seguro socavar mucho en el espíritu. Leí solo unas paginas a mi suegro antes de que fallesca y pude ver que guardaba un gran respeto por dicho libro, cosa que lo llevó a sentirse acongojado. Solo por eso, sin saber más, pasa a ser un libro digno de recordar.Básicamente relata como novela la vida de cristo, no tengo idea si es ficción o qué, pero sí sé que a un buen cristiano le va a gustar.

The digital transcription in Spanish is dreadful. Each page takes about misspelling, incomplete word and symbols instead of letters.The content is very good, however these orthographic errors interfere with a coherent reading.I would like to read a corrected version of this book, otherwise, I do not think I finalize reading without having frustrated a decent reading.
