I love the part when she drives the nun mobile and thinks she has got the hang of it. Ha ha ha ha ha 😆

I loved the book. It was a cute book. It was interesting too. I love mystery so this book was great.

I needed a break from all of the emotionally heavy books I was reading, and this fit the bill. To be fair, the book does cover some heavy topics, including homelessness and abandonment, but there is plenty of levity in the book that left me feeling hopeful and not in despair.I listened to the audio and Tara Sands does a lovely job with Sammy. I appreciate her voice from Hudson because it sounds exactly the way I would imagine a 12-year-old imitating a grandfather type.I think what I appreciate most about this book is though there's a mean girl character, this is not one of those mean girl narratives, and it doesn't fall into the trap of tweens coveting popularity above all else. In fact, at one point, Sammy says how happy she is to have two close friends instead of a lot of friends, and I think this may be the first time I've actually seen that explicitly addressed in a middle grade novel.Sammy is great. I love books about smart girls, and I especially love books about smart girls who go to grown ups for help when they're in over their heads.

Instead of serving detention at her junior high, Samantha "Sammy" Keyes is putting in twenty hours of community service at St. Mary's church after school. It's almost fun until Father Mayhew's valuable ivory cross is missing. At first he suspects her and she's banished to the soup kitchen. She has to clear her name and fast. Then other things go missing and she's on the case with a whole bunch of suspects to choose from. The church's regular staff, a group of traveling gospel singing nuns, a homeless girl, and a carrot eating dog who devours everything in sight. What's really weird is that as she investigates she realizes that St. Mary's is a lot like junior high with its gossip, jealousies, secrets, and cliques. Things aren't perfect at school either. Her softball team is in the middle of the final playoffs. Someone has taken her catcher's mitt. It's the only thing she has of her fathers. Its theft is more than a little upsetting and threatens to affect her game. Although the mystery is a little predictable, it's fun. Full of quirky characters sure to keep a smile on any reader's face. Lots of series can be read out of order, (Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys), without losing much. That's true of the Sammy Keyes books, since each is a stand alone. But, I've read a couple of them now, and realize that the books become deeper, and the Sammy character becomes more interesting, complicated and developed, from book to book. There's a big difference in the reading experience between, say, "Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief", which is book one, and "Sammy Keyes and the Psycho Kitty Queen", which is number nine. "Sisters of Mercy" is number three, and is still pretty much a juvenile mystery/adventure. If your young reader really likes it I'd recommend starting with the first volume and working through them. They're all good.

This book, which is the last of a group that I bought at a used book sale to complete a purchase of a couple of books that I wanted but had to find several others to make up "ten for a dollar," is the third of a series; the first two are Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief, which won the 1998 Edgar Award for Best Children's Mystery, and Sammy Keyes and the Skeleton Man. Samantha (Sammy) Keyes is a seventh-grade girl at William Rose Junior High School at Santa Martina (probably in California). Her mother, the Lady Lana who has gone to Hollywood to become a movie star, has dumped her off to live with Grams whose senior apartment house doesn't allow kids. Sammy doesn't even know who her father is, but she does have his catcher's mitt. In The Sisters of Mercy, Sammy has abused the school's PA system and is serving twenty hours of detention by doing community service. Grams has worked it out for her to do it at St. Mary's Church, helping Father Mayhew clean and paint his office while the Sisters of Mercy, a trio of singing nuns named Bernice, Abigail, and Clarice, are in town to do a fundraiser for the church. However, Father Mayhew's ivory cross is stolen, and Sammy is blamed at first because she was the only one in the room, so she is sent to work at the soup kitchen with Sisters Josephine and Mary Margaret and Brother Phil and also help the Sisters of Mercy with their fliers. Along the way we also learn about Sammy's catching on her girls' softball team, her problems at school with her arch-nemesis Heather Acosta, and her efforts to help a homeless girl named Holly Janquell who comes to the soup kitchen. Father Mayhew eventually decides that Sammy didn't take the cross, but who stole it? Was it Josephine and Mary Margaret who are trying to finance a trip to Las Vegas? Was it Brother Phil who is mad at Father Mayhew for holding him back from becoming a priest? Was it Holly who might have sold it for money to survive? And when Sammy's own catcher's mitt is stolen, will she ever get it back? Sammy is a sympathetic character with all her disadvantages, even though she has this penchant for getting into trouble and comes across as a little to "street-smart." I suppose the unknown father and irresponsible mother are included to make the story seem "relevant" to today's kids, but many of us prefer stories with less dysfunctional families. However, Grams is always there to provide some stability in Sammy's life. There are many things to like about the book, including some important lessons learned and some tender moments experienced. However, there are some things which a few parents might not care for. These include childish slang terms for dog manure, urination, and the rear end; some common euphemisms; one child's calling another "turdface;" and some instances of the words "Lord" and "God" used as interjections. Remember, this is junior high, but in a softball game, a girl at bat sticks her fanny out and all the boys whistle. In fact, much of the activity taking place at school will remind homeschooling families of why we have chosen to homeschool. And as you can imagine, there are a lot of references to Roman Catholic Church beliefs and practices. Girls' Life said, "Move over, Nancy Drew--a new sleuth is on the scene." Well, Sammy is not too bad, but Nancy, you can just stay where you are. I for one appreciate your old fashioned values.

This took me a few chapters to get into, but when I did, I really did. Someone else wrote this tip, and it is absolutely true: sit down and spend a chunk of time at a go on this. Don't just read a few pages before falling asleep. The music of the writing takes a little while to settle into at first and then it becomes beautiful. These characters will stick with you.

This latest was probably my third reading. And I realized that To the Lighthouse may be my favorite novel of all time. It tops a handful of other novels and memoirs in my top ten. It is so deeply imagined, gorgeously written, and brilliantly structured. I like it personally better than Mrs. Dalloway, and it's right up there with Woolf's nonfiction masterpiece, A Room of One's Own.I actually read the party scene that culminates the novel's first section out loud to my wife, which took a solid hour and was incredibly emotional and moving. That long scene is a real jaw-dropper, a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Warning: if you try reading it out loud and sort of act out the parts and dialogue, your voice may crack.However, some people do bounce right off To the Lighthouse, as they do with any book. I urged it on my brother in law, and he bogged down and was lost immediately in the richly layered first section. If that happens to you, here is my advice: read it in reverse order. Start with the last section, the trip to the lighthouse, which is very straightforward. Then read the short middle section, Time Passes, which is only slightly less clear. Then tackle the first section, which portrays the Ramsay family and their friends socializing at the beach house and debating whether to sail to the lighthouse.The character of the painter Lilly Briscoe in the first section fascinates me, as does her reappearance in the final act.

Virginia Woolf facile use of the English language is breath-taking. She conveys the interior monologue of her characters, with its tangents and non-sequiturs, lucidly and it easy for the reader to follow without becoming disoriented or lost in the words. Read this just to savor her sentences! The ideas of someone from pre- and post-WW I was an interesting contrast as well.

Whoa! I consider myself a pretty stick-to-it reader. Tackled most of the classics and love the Russians! I read the other comments and did my best to keep going. I think I made it about half way. She was crazy, OK, no offense some of my friends have been crazy but... If the writing style was reversed, 1/3 stream of consciousness 2/3 coherent real time dialogue I think it would be quite amazing. The 2/3 dream like disconnected wandering mind 1/3 coherent writing just didn't work for me. I wish I was worthy.

"So much depends, she thought, upon distance; whether people are near to us or far from us". So writes Virginia Woolf of the forlorn, but independent Lily Briscoe in To the Lighthouse. There are so many adjectives one can use to describe how truly great this novel is. To sum the action up would be rather easy. It's about the Ramsay family vacationing at a Scottish beach house in the early nineteen hundreds. From the outside the action seems minimal, but Woolf constructs this novel from the inside. We glimpse the inner workings of the characters on this little island. We see their thoughts, weaknesses, loves, and losses. As Woolf writes so much of the novel deals with distance. Distance to time, to each other, and the perceptions we conjure in our minds. This book on the one hand is about perceptions and how we perceive each other in life. The whole novel is set as if it were in slow motion. Very few words are spoken, but the ones that are take on important meaning in the story. As I was reading I felt much the same way as Mr. Ramsay, James, and Cam thought as they journeyed to the lighthouse. I allowed Virginia Woolf's beautiful prose to wash over me. Her words moved much the same as a wave does; seemingly innocent at first, but packed with a punch that could knock you on your feet. There are so many beautiful characters in this story from the elegant and motherly Mrs. Ramsay to the conflicted and sexist Mr. Tansley. Perhaps my favorite part of the whole novel was the dinner scene. So many sorrowful and joyous things culminating at once. There were many times in this novel that I was almost moved to tears reading the descriptive sentences that Woolf weaves together. I will admit that this was no easy read. It may be only 200 pages, but each page lingers with the reader and begs to be slowed down; allowing the words to wash over them. A modernist classic To the Lighthouse implements Woolf's stream of consciousness technique that many may find difficult or confusing to read. My advice is to slow down. You may get confused trying to decipher who's mind you are in. but after a while it begins to flow. To the Lighthouse is true classic, and highly recommend it!

I'd never read any Virginia Woolf, and after listening to this audio version, I'm glad I didn't. Virginia Leishman's beautiful reading slowed the book down enough that the beauty of the language and the emotion came through in a way that I might now have appreciated if I'd read the book myself. One of my favorite audiobook experiences of all time. I've now bought additional copies of this for three or four friends. Highly, highly recommended. If you aren't a Virginia Woolf fan, it will make you into one. If you aren't an audio book fan, you will be after listening to this transcendent reading.

Beautifully written in the unique style that defines Virgina Woolf. If Woolf were a musician, I think she might enjoy either improvising as a jazz artist or extemporizing classical cadenzas. It takes an effort to stay connected to the story line as Woolf employs the narrative technique, stream of conciousness. Abudantly filled with "food for thought" in terms of both symbolism and the characters inner and outer thoughts/actions. The human condition is complex; Woolf pens masterfully.A book to read - and then read again.

The chapters that dealt with the stars (before, during and after the show), the episodes, their dealings with the network were all fantastic. Great behind the scenes stuff that I hadn't heard or read about before. If only the entire book focused on those areas. There were several chapters on all of the writers and writing process. Those started out interesting enough, but quickly got repetitive and less compelling. Then the last few chapters totally lost me. Stories about websites, blogs and twitter accounts. Beyond boring. There were so many under or un-explored topics that would have made for a stronger finish. I would still recommend it to a Seinfeld fan because the first 75% or so was that good, but after that, I would advise to just skim through the last few chapters

Not organized with an index as far as Episodes!. No way to go by season or episode. But the point of this book is to tell the story of the scenes behind Seinfeld. I think the author gets this point across. If you are a real nut case Seinfeld fan I would recommend this book!

Mindlessly dull; the author drones on and on without any insights into the internal worlds of the principal actors; felt like all the perspectives from the various “insiders” were culled from superficial interviews from many different sources and just “copied and pasted”, resulting in a rambling and dreary read...don’t waste your time and money!

Compelling, with page after page of inside information about the conception, production, and cast of Seinfeld. As a major fan, I'm loving this book. "How could anyone not like [it]?"

Seinfeldia is a must for those who love Seinfeld and wanted to know what it was like to be behind the scenes of such an iconic show. Its a quick read but packs a lot of little gems. It also has pictures that marked the time when this show was hot hot hot.

After I read the sample pages, I was hooked! This book has such a plethora of Seinfeld minutiae I had no idea existed! I am now searching for a minor league baseball game with a Seinfeld night! Maybe I'll even host a Seinfeld-themed party!!!

Got this for my brother as a Christmas gift. He really liked it and was very eager to read it.

As a huge Seinfeld fan this book was – breathtaking. So good in fact, it is now my staple go-to gift. An absolute must buy!

I liked that I related to all of those stepmothers who had their stepchildren trying to get the money that their father shared with his wife of many years instead of his children. I like this book because I see here an honest, caring lawyer that addresses the problem of the greedy, avaricious children. I like his examples of unfair and unnatural transaction. He talks about "the elder's long- held estate plan to split assets equally among his or her effectively null and void." Thank God, I am one who has persevered and I can afford to continue. I would like every stepmother who has been confronted with this type of situation to read this book sooner than the almost 6 years that I have been in litigation. I have friends that might have benefited by reading this book. Since no 2 people are alike, Michael Hackard can only give so many examples of undue the elder financial abuse that I can relate to but what he tells in this book makes me feel very good in that I am fighting a disease that is taking over this country with the aid of despicable lawyers and people in supposed authority. Mr. Hackard wrote this book to help all of us who find ourselves in this position. He advises in this book to find the best lawyer as soon as possible.On page 120, he quotes from the American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct: Preamble & Scope:A lawyer's conduct should conform to the requirements of the law, both in professional service to clients and in the lawyer's business and personal affairs. A lawyer should use the law's procedures only for legitimate purposes and not to harass or intimidate others. A lawyer should demonstrate respect for the legal system and for those who serve it, including judges, other lawyers and public official. While it is a lawyer's duty, when necessary, to challenge the rectitude of official action, it is also a lawyer's duty to uphold legal process.

This book is so true! I'm going through this myself with my grredy, unscrupulous brother manipulating my mother who has dementia. He had her sign a new DPOA removing me as secondary & removed me completely from her trust giving him 100%. Elderly services can't do anything, legal services can't do anything....I don't know where to turn.

The laws explained within the book are easy to understand and help assist the layperson in guidance regarding the depths of financial elder abuse and the subsequent harm it can cause a family. It is a self-guided manual on how to recognize signs of elder abuse, the various roles played by financial institutions and estate representatives, to the courses of action one can take to remedy these types of situations. With his forty plus years of legal experience, Michael Hackard is a natural – which shows through his eloquent, yet effortless, writing of this book. He seems to have experienced every type of elder financial abuse situation through his legal practice and has even dealt with these situations in his personal life. He lends practical tools to the everyday reader and allows us to be informed by answering common questions with useful advice. This book is definitely a must-read if you are confronted with probate and/or civil litigation or if you simply wish to balance your moral compass in recognition of detecting financial elder abuse within the community.

Michael Hackard's book exposes the tactics of wrongdoers who would exploit elders for their own gain. It's a wake-up call for anyone concerned that it's happening to a loved-one. The relate-able anecdotes drawing from years of experience litigating these cases provide powerful and eye-opening descriptions of the tactics and strategies too often used to exploit the elderly. Most importantly, the Wolf at the Door does an outstanding job of letting those who witness elder exploitation know that they need not feel helpless, and that justice can be done!

Excellent book! Elder financial abuse/undue influence is, unfortunately, more or less 'legalized' by the legal system and our society in general, absent any real penalty for committing such heinous acts and due to the costs involved in litigation. That's why it's becoming an epidemic.It happened to me with an aunt with some wolf like relatives. And it can happen to you, too.

This book is a wonderful read for anyone caring for or will be caring for elderly loved ones. The book is well written and easy to comprehend. I found the scenarios were true to life and have even happened with my own family. Very informative and the information that is provided needs to get out in communities everywhere as we all deal with caring for our aging loved ones.

Perhaps I went into this book with faulty expectations... I was expecting something that may delve deep into neurobiology and related phenomenon or something that would really illuminate a possible way to leverage the elusive flow state. However, most of the book was filled with banal exposition of the lives of action/adventure athletes. I found it a little interesting, but for the most part, I just couldn't find myself caring. One anecdote could have provided enough of a context to work with, but more than half of the book is filled with vapid tales that appear intended to motivate or some kind of tributary.The book seems filled with lots of talk of flow state with the very occasional timid suggestion of reproducing the state. Weak read.

This is NOT a book about the comic book hero. It’s a book about a mental state called “the flow” and how adventure and extreme athletes have used it to make tremendous strides in their sports. The characteristics of the flow include extreme focus, time dilation / time distortion, a vanishing sense of self, extremely high performance, fearlessness, and a falling away of everything non-essential to the task at hand.Kotler is by no means the first author to write about the flow. The term was inaugurated by a book entitled “Flow” first published in 1990 by a University of Chicago Psychology professor named Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Csikszentmihalyi coined the term in the process of conducting a study on happiness. He found that happy people tended to engage in activities in which they could immerse themselves and find the zone. Contrary to the early part of Kotler’s book--in which it sounds like adventure athletes cornered the market on flow--Csikszentmihalyi says that said activity could be work or hobby and that the flow is to be found in poetry writing, yoga, martial arts, copy writing, or potentially any activity in which the skill level and challenge are both high.(To be fair, Kotler does get around to recognizing that extreme athletes neither invented nor exclusively exploit the flow. However, his—well-taken—point is that such athletes are unusually good a finding, and dropping deep into, the flow in part because risk-taking behavior is an important trigger. And for free climbers [rock climbers without ropes], mega-ramp skateboarders, and bodysuit skydivers sometimes there are only two possible states of existence—the flow and being scraped off a rock.) It should be noted that some of the elements of flow sound a lot like the states that have been described by various mystical religious traditions for centuries, e.g. the dissolution of a feeling of separation between self and the rest of the universe. Warning: religious readers may find it disconcerting to read that there are scientific explanations for states that were once attributed to communion with god or the like.While I’ve given Kotler’s book high rating, I haven’t yet given one reason to read it—and I do recommend people read it. First, while Csikszentmihalyi is the “father” of flow research, his methods were decidedly low tech--i.e. surveys and interviews—but Kotler reports on more recent studies involving neuroanatomy, neuroelectricity, and neurochemistry. Second, while Kotler delves into the science of the flow, he does so in a manner that is approachable to non-scientists. Finally, all of the narrative accounts of extreme athletes interspersed with the more technical commentary make for a very readable book, even if one is not particularly knowledgeable of—or interested in—such sports. I gave this book a high rating both for its food-for-thought value, and because of its high readability.I will admit that I was not so enamored of the book when I first began it, and other readers may find the same irritation. For one thing, Kotler’s adoration of extreme athletes comes off sounding like diminishment of mainstream athletes and others involved in “flowy” activities. A prime example of this is seen in Chapter 1. Kotler gives us an endearing description of how gymnast Kerri Strug won the gold in the 1996 Olympics by sticking a landing on a shattered ankle. However, he then comes off a bit douchey when he suggests that Strug’s achievement pales in comparison to Danny Way’s skateboard jumps at the Great Wall of China.For another thing, in his zealousness to prove that extreme sports practitioners are full-awesome while mainstream athletes are “meh,” Kotler makes some comparisons that seem apples and oranges to a neophyte such as me. If they are fair comparisons, he certainly doesn’t explain why they should be considered so. The best example of this is when he states that Olympic divers took decades to achieve increases in rotation that extreme skiers and skateboarders surpassed in much less time. This seems unreasonable for two reasons. First, divers have a very standard distance in which to achieve their acrobatics. In other words, they don’t get to build a “mega-platform” that’s 50% taller like Danny Way creates “mega-ramps” that were bigger than ever before. Of course, if you can increase the distance between yourself and the ground you can increase your spins, rotations, or whatever much more quickly (yes, your danger goes up vastly, I’m not diminishing that.) Second, the divers gained zero advantage from technological improvements, but the same cannot be said for skiers and skateboarders. In other words, if you go from skis made of oak to ones made of carbon nanotubes (that are 50 times stronger and 1/100th of the weight) of course you’re going to make gains faster.Perhaps, I’m overstating Kotler’s disdain for mainstream athletics, but that’s what happens when one uses a national hero as a set up to show how much more awesome a relatively unknown skateboarder is (among skateboarders Way is extremely well-known but he’s not a household name as the Olympian was--at least for a short time in the late 90’s.) I suspect that Kotler was just trying to convince a general audience that the athletes he’s speaking about aren’t pot-smoking knuckleheads who are as likely to be seen on America’s Funniest Home Videos crushing their nads on a handrail as setting a new world record. These men and women are serious people engaged in serious activities, and they give it their all. They do deserve more respect for that than they are probably given by broad sectors of the populace. Perhaps, the importance of what these folks are achieving does need to be conveyed because the demographic that reads books and the one that follows extreme sports probably has wide wings of non-overlapping area. (I’m not saying skateboarders are illiterate or bookworms don’t skate--just that the Venn diagram has substantial areas of mutual exclusivity.)As I indicated above, in each chapter we get both some insight into the nature of the flow and its triggers and stories of adventure / extreme athletes that serve as examples of what’s being discussed. In chapter 2 we learn what the flow looks like in terms of brain waves (i.e. high theta/low alpha, or between meditation and a relaxed / resting state of wakefulness.) In chapter 3, we learn about the neuroanatomy of the flow in terms of what areas of the brain it lights up, and that it’s at least as important what areas shut down. In chapter 4, we learn about the neurochemistry of the flow and that a cocktail of dopamine, norepinephrine, endorphins, anandamide, and serotonin makes up the chemistry of flow, but, critically, not so much with the adrenaline. The subsequent chapters deal with triggers of the flow, and what conditions best set up achievement of this state of mind.Chapter 9 stands out as an important, but quite different, portion of the book. It deals with the downside (or dark side) of the flow. This has a lot to do with the fact that the aforementioned internal substances (and the flow state in general) are quite addictive. While it’s unfair to say, and unlikely, that the extreme athletes Kotler writes about (i.e. the ones at the top of their games) are drug addicts as some might assume of skate boarders, snow boarders, and the like, it may not be unreasonable to say that they have a kind of monkey on their backs—albeit a perfectly legal one.As I’ve said, I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in this state of mind. One needn’t be interested in extreme sports to get a lot out of the book.

This book is crammed end to end with people jumping off buildings, skiing down cliffs, skateboarding, skydiving, surfing giant waves, etc. The core message is powerful but gets drowned in the author's over-the-top sports examples slathered far too liberally. It's almost like he doesn't have enough to say so he has to couch it in endless sports drama. It gets tiresome. So I'm going to do the same in this review. While repeating over and over how tedious his sports analogies are, I have to say that if you are patient, there are some real gems in this book worth picking up, and my recent meditations, study, sports and other activities have strongly benefitted from the reading. I'm not sure this will be the case for most, but it is a useful book if you are curious about how to engender flow in your life and you understand that flow happens in other places than just sports. The author does not do much to help you understand that. Just trust me on it.

Basically the book is a series of stories about extreme sport athletes with little to offer in the way of relating any practical application outside of dopamine fueled athletics. I was waiting until the final page for some kind of tie-in with the world outside of extreme sports and some practical training steps in the personal or corporate world, but these are never explored in any concrete way by the author. He just keeps boomeranging from one X Games feat to another, finally ending with a 800 mph skydive from outer space. Flow is an interesting state that all of us have experienced at one time or another. It is too bad that the author does little to explore the real world applications and steps the non-X Gamer can apply in real life.

No practical recommendations in this book other than Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's decades-old description of precursors or sidelines to the flow state.Somehow the Shaolin monks are never mentioned. A non-extreme-sport lifestyle dedicated to surpassing "normal" and engendering on-demand flow capability.The book did not transport me into a flow state.

I adored this book even more than The Rose Sisters. These two books were very reminiscent of Rosamunde Pilcher's books, which I love, especially her short stories. My print copies are tattered from being read so much. I loved the beautiful English setting, the kind heroes, the nasty-learning-change-older characters, the sweet, not sexy, tone of the story. I'm looking forward to reading more of Victoria Connelly's books!

I was drawn to read more by this author after reading The Rose Girls. I was not disappointed. The gorgeous atmospheric writing and sense of romance was absorbing and warming in every respect. A great read. Highly recommend.

This is a heart-warming story of loss, broken and restored relationships, and finding love again.Wonderfully done, the descriptions of the gardens and the English countryside made me feel as if I were there.Lovely, endearing characters. The stories of each one unfold and blend together seamlessly.I listened to the audio version of this story and narrator, Susan Duerden, did a fantastic job.I would definitely read more by this author.

The Jacob's family lived in Orley Court, an old English Manor for generations. Now Vanessa, a widow, her two daughters and their grandmother lives there.During the summer the Old Manor was in need of repair. This is a great plot and I enjoyed the writing. Ms Victoria led us through the old Manor that needed repairs. Then she stepped outside to show us the beautiful gardens all around the house and the hugh yard. This is a simple romance, so relaxing as you read it's like watching a movie, just wonderful.One daughter came up with a plan to repair the old Manor and Vanessa suggested the work for the garden. This novel was a very good sweet novel with humor, romance, love and some disagreements. I enjoyed the wonderful gardens with the sweet romance. Ms Victoria did a good job. Just sit back and enjoy.

Readers will fall in love with this romantic tale. . I am a sucker for storyline which are cultivate in english gardens. The beauty of reading the "Secret Garden" always draws me to these type of novels. Ms. Connelly is a new author on my library shelves and I we'll be searching for other novels in which she has written. Worthy author.

Love in an English Garden is a book showing that love is always around us as long as we are open to it. Even when our hearts get broken we have to take that chance again. That is what the book describes, finding love in an awesome setting as an English garden. The Garden has been unkept for years and it is in bringing the garden back to life that the characters find themselves also brought back to life.

This was an easy reading escape. Great for an airplane ride, day at the beach or a chance to get away from the world's sordidness. It was light and uplifting. The characters were well developed and you cheered and felt with and for them. Could've been longer to continue their stories. Wrapped up a little too abruptly. Maybe a sequel is out there. Will have to check.
